Privacy Policy

Last updated October 20, 2026

This policy explains what personal information Contractors & Developers Bonding (“C&D”, “we”) collects through this website, how we use and share it, and the choices you have. It applies to this website. When you buy a bond through our online storefront, the storefront’s own privacy policy also applies (see “Bonds bought online” below).

Information you give us

You choose what to send us. Depending on the form, that can include:

  • Contact details: your name, title, company, email address, phone number and mailing address.
  • Bond and project details: the bond you need, bid and contract amounts, project, obligee and owner information, and contract terms.
  • Business details: contractor license number, years in business, current surety and agent, and bank and line-of-credit information.
  • Documents you upload, such as questionnaires, financial statements, work-in-progress schedules, bank letters and personal financial statements. These can contain sensitive financial information, so please include only what we ask for.
  • Anything you write in a message to us.

Information collected automatically

  • To stop automated spam, our form handler briefly keeps the IP address a submission came from, for about one minute, in memory only. It is not stored or used for anything else.
  • Like any website, our hosting provider keeps standard server logs, such as IP address, browser type, pages requested and the time of the request, to run and secure the site.
  • The site saves one small item in your browser’s local storage to remember that you have already seen or skipped our commercial. It contains only the date, and you can clear it at any time in your browser settings.

We do not use advertising cookies, analytics or tracking pixels, session recording, or chat tools, and the site’s own code does not set cookies.

Our commercial on YouTube

Our commercial plays through YouTube’s privacy-enhanced player. When it loads, YouTube (Google) receives your IP address and browser information and may use it as described in Google’s Privacy Policy (opens in a new tab). If you prefer not to load it, choose Skip when the commercial opens.

How we use your information

  • To answer your questions and requests.
  • To evaluate, obtain, issue and service your bonds, including underwriting.
  • To keep in touch with you about your account and requests.
  • To meet legal, regulatory and insurance record-keeping obligations.
  • To protect the website and our clients from fraud and abuse.

Who we share it with

  • Our own staff who handle your request.
  • Surety companies and their underwriters, as needed to obtain your bond. When you submit an application, you authorize this on the form.
  • The obligee or project owner named on a bond, as the bond requires.
  • Service providers that host this website and deliver our email. They may use your information only to provide those services to us.
  • Government authorities or others when the law requires it, or to protect our rights or the safety of others.
  • A buyer or successor if our business is sold or reorganized, under the same protections.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not share it with third parties for their own direct marketing.

Bonds bought online

Bonds bought online are purchased through a storefront at cndbonds.com (opens in a new tab) operated by our partner BOSS Bonds Insurance Agency, LLC (CA #0M08008). Information you enter there is collected and handled under BOSS’s own privacy policy, which is available on that site.

How long we keep it

We keep your information for as long as we need it for the purposes above, including servicing your bonds for their full term and meeting legal and insurance record-keeping requirements. After that we delete it or keep it only in a form that no longer identifies you.

How we protect it

We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards, and our website only sends form submissions over encrypted connections. No method of sending or storing information is completely secure, so for large or especially sensitive document packages, ask us for a secure upload link instead of attaching them to a form.

Your choices and rights

You can ask us to:

  • Tell you what personal information we hold about you and give you a copy.
  • Correct information that is wrong or out of date.
  • Delete your information, except what we must keep by law or to service a bond that is in force.

To make a request, call us at 626-859-1000, email covina@cndbonding.com, or write to us at the address below. We will confirm your identity before acting on a request, and you can use an authorized agent. We will not treat you differently for making a request.

Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

Your browser may send a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal. This site does not track you across other websites and does not sell or share your personal information, so there is nothing for these signals to turn off. We treat a Global Privacy Control signal as a request not to sell or share your information, which we already do not do.

Children

This website is for businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will post the new version on this page and update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we will also note it here before it takes effect.
